Biography
Jitendra Kumar obtained his M.F.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Fisheries Resource Management from Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. He was born on February, 1st 1990. He is serving as Editor-in-Chief for the International Journal “Journal of Fisheries and Life Sciencesâ€; General Secretary for the “Society of Fisheries and Life Sciencesâ€; “Fisheries Graduate Welfare Association†and advisory committee member in several Indian and International journals. He has been conferred the numerous prestigious awards viz., Junior Young Scientist Award 2013; COFFA Educational Awards 2014; Young Environmentalist Award 2016 in recognition of his outstanding contributions. He has published more than fifty peer reviewed journal papers, articles, abstracts and co-edited several proceedings of seminars and workshops. He contributed in the attendance of many meetings, workshops and training courses in Indian and abroad. His area of research are Marine Fisheries, Inland Fisheries, Fish Biology, Ichthyofaunal Bio-diversity, Oceanography, Trawl Fisheries, Socio-economic studies, Remote Sensing and GIS in Potential Fishing Zone, Reservoir Fisheries etc.
